At CTS we provide an English language course (ESOL-Skills for life) for people who are applying for British Nationality or an indefinite stay visa. The requirement for a sufficient amount of knowledge of living life in the UK was made compulsory in 2005 by the government.
We offer a crash course which lasts for a period of no longer than five days which, includes full training based on the four sections of the exam and a short easy assessment which is carried out by independent external examiners from the English Speaking Board (ESB), who are recognized and accepted by the Home Office.
The exam itself is only speaking and listening and is conducted on site in our centre at the end of the week on the Friday. The total speaking time of the examination per candidate is only 9-11mins. The results of the examination are made available the following Tuesday afternoon and upon success the certificates are received by us 14 working days after the examination date ready for collection. The certificates do not have an expiry date and can be used as and when suitable. Certificates can only be posted out if you live outside a 30 mile radius from our centre.
The success rate at our centre is commendable at around 98%. Once the applicants gain this qualification they will receive a registered entry level certificate which will then allow them to proceed with their application for British nationality, and section 1.20 (0r 5 indefinite stay) of the application will be complete.
Candidates that are applying for indefinite visas or any other visas can use the same certificate again when they wish to apply for their naturalization. The certificate you will receive is an ESOL ‘Skills for life’ qualification in speaking and listening at Entry Level, which is what the Home office require.
In order to enroll on the course we require 2 passport size photos, a proof of address and your (candidates) travel document or passport. The total cost of the course which is all inclusive is £150 if you are applying for Naturalization or £180 if you are applying for indefinite leave to remain. Please call for further details.
